Obama’s health secretary resigns after Obamacare launch woes

U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Sebelius prepares prior to testifying before the Senate Finance Committee hearing on the President's budget proposal for FY2015, on Capitol Hill in WashingtonBy Roberta Rampton WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is resigning after overseeing the botched rollout of President Barack Obama's signature healthcare reforms, a White House official said on Thursday. Her departure removes a lightning rod for Republican critics as Obama and his Democrats try to retain control of the U.S. Senate in November midterm elections, where problems with Obamacare reforms will be a top issue. The October 1 launch of the new Obamacare health insurance marketplace, which was plagued by computer problems, has been condemned by Republicans as a step toward socialized medicine. Obama has chosen Sylvia Mathews Burwell, his budget director, to replace Sebelius, the official said.

Aphex Twin releasing rare unheard album thanks to Kickstarter campaign

Aphex Twin releasing rare unheard album thanks to Kickstarter campaignLegendary electronic music artist Richard D. James, better known as Aphex Twin, is planning to release an incredibly rare, unheard piece of music through a rather unusual channel: Kickstarter. A few days ago, a listing on the music marketplace Discogs popped up for a two-vinyl music set made by Richard James back in 1994, recorded under his Caustic Window moniker. The deal has been put together with the blessing of James himself, and it'll be the only official way to get your hands on this rare recording ‒ James has said that he has no plans to reissue the album in any way, shape or form after this Kickstarter. Once the record has been ripped and the digital copies distributed to the Kickstarter backers, the project will enter its second phase: the original vinyl will be put up on eBay, with the proceeds split three ways.
